Some pundit once observed that "nobody walks in LA", which is not only an untrue statement, but something of a put-down of Los Angelenos in general, as it makes us all look like slaves to our automobiles, not to mention obese and otherwise out-of-shape, which is certainly not the case for yours truly.

This circa '53 Buick Roadmaster was seen by the side of Old Route 66 last week, the pilot having bailed and trudged off toward civilization and, one presumes, mechanical assistance.

The Victor Clothing Building in downtown Los Angeles features several outstanding murals on both its north and south walls. Late afternoon shoppers stroll past the old Arcade Theater on Broadway in downtown Los Angeles.





The Arcade was designed by architects Morgan &amp; Walls in 1910 for Alexander Pantages as a vaudeville music &amp; variety theater. From time to time, Los Angeles just surprises the heck out of me. Awhile  back, I went to visit a friend's new gallery which is adjacent to  MacArthur Park, an area I thought I knew well. Is it fast? Oh, yes.
